Recap: 10th Annual Parkinson's Golf Classic
The Annual Parkinson’s Golf Classic celebrated its 10th birthday Monday, June 8, at Philmont Country Club. Because this was such a special year, it was only proper to honor a special person – Jan Albert.
Jan has been a long time member and supporter of the Parkinson Council. For the past nine years, Jan’s leadership in helping to build and organize the golf classic has helped to raise more than $3 million for local Parkinson’s Disease research and education
The tournament, chaired by Judy & Art Axelrod and Sandy & Steve Cozen, grossed more than $350,000 from dedicated sponsors and supporters.
We all had an incredible time, and one lucky golfer even got a hole-in-one!
The day began after a delicious lunch and short game clinic. Players had a chance at Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive contests.
After golf, players were treated to a deluxe buffet featuring a sushi bar. The evening’s program featured informative and heartwarming moments with Hall of Fame basketball player and coach Billy Cunningham acting as the Master of Ceremonies. Our evening ended with the drawing of raffle prizes and our prize ceremony for our tournament winners.
