PECO Crown Lights

Periodically, throughout 2007, the landmark crown lights atop the Peco Building in Center City Philadelphia will broadcast a variety of messages from The Parkinson Council. The Sixth Annual Parkinson’s Golf Classic a Success

The Sixth Annual Parkinson’s Golf Classic raised a record amount of money this past year thus enabling The Parkinson Council to recently donate $190,000.00 to the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, a Center of Excellence designated by the National Parkinson Foundation.

The grant will underwrite revolutionary research into identifying at-risk individuals as well as other experimental therapeutic programs, support groups, medical staff training and educational forums.

2007 From The Heart Gala

The Parkinson Council was the recipient of a donation of $166,000 from the Philadelphia area charity, From the Heart, a team of women who provides financial support to worthy causes. The money was raised from its annual fundraising gala, which included entertainment by the nationally renowned political satirists Capitol Steps.
